Prevention is Better Than Cure

Of course we’re glad the weather is getting nicer and temperatures are rising, but every advantage comes with a disadvantage – and in this case it’s the mosquitoes that come into play when the weather warms up. With these tips you prevent yourself from getting completely punctured.

1. Avoid Water

Mosquitoes lay their eggs in water, and are therefore constantly looking for places where there is a lot of water. If you don’t want to get stung, it’s important to stay far away from – well, watery places. Cooling off in the pool is wonderful, but you get the mosquitoes for free.

2. Protect Yourself With Anti-mosquito Spray or Cream

Nowadays there are very handy sprays and creams that keep mosquitoes at bay. With a day at the beach on the schedule, it is therefore wise to not only apply sunscreen in advance, but also apply anti-mosquito spray. This way you can be sure that you will return home with a nice tan, but without annoying mosquito bites.

3. Sleep Under a Mosquito Net

You are often stung at night, and unless you want to apply anti-mosquito cream every night, it is wise to sleep under a mosquito net. A good mosquito net with small enough holes ensures that mosquitoes don’t stand a chance to come near you while you sleep.

4. Use Screens in the House

When it gets warmer, we often tend to open doors and windows more often. Delicious, but of course also an excellent opportunity for mosquitoes to enter your home. To prevent this, you can decide to have screens installed. These ensure that the fresh air does enter your home, but the mosquitoes do not. Useful!
