How to do Halasana (Steps to do Plow Pose)

The method of doing Halasana is quite simple and can be easily learned even by first time performers. However, the way of doing Halasana is as follows –

  • Step 1 – Lie straight on the mat or blanket and keep both the arms straight at the bottom
  • Step 2 – While taking a deep breath, raise both the legs upwards and make an angle of 90 degrees.
  • Step 3 – After this, while exhaling, move the legs towards your head and try to bring the knees closer to the forehead.
  • Step 4 – When the legs stop bending further, bend the elbows and support them by placing the palms under the waist.
  • Step 5 – Slowly move the hands towards the upper end of the waist so that your hips can go up as much as possible
  • Step 6 – When the toes of both the feet touch the floor, then maintain this posture for about two minutes.
  • Step 7 – After this, while exhaling, remove the palms and slowly straighten the spine and bring the legs down.

Precautions during Plow Pose
