Advantages and Disadvantages of Sasangasana (Rabbit Pose)- There is a special yoga posture, with the help of which the stiffness of many parts of the body including the spine can be removed.

Sasangasana is a special yoga posture, with the help of which the stiffness of many joints of the body can be removed and flexibility can be brought into them. Sasangasana can also be very beneficial to remove the pain happening in many parts of the body. 

It is a medium-grade yoga posture and can be practiced by both novice and experienced practitioners. To practice Sasangasana, it is necessary to have flexibility in the body, however, there is no need to force any action on it. Sasangasana is known as “Rabbit Pose” in English.

Steps to do Rabbit Pose

If you are going to practice Sasangasana for the first time, the following steps may help you to make this yoga pose –

  • Step 1 First of all, by laying a mat on flat ground, stand straight on it.
  • Step 2  Now take a deep breath and keep both the knees on the ground and bend a little and keep the hands on the ground as well.
  • Step 3  Bend the elbows, keep the head in front of the knees and try to hold the soles of the feet with both hands.
  • Step 4 If you are not able to hold the soles, try to bring the head closer to the knees
  • Step 5 However, some people are not able to do it completely in the beginning and later on they get used to it.

  3. disability or old age
  4. pregnancy or menstruation
  5. have any other serious illness
