Nice to Know!
Eating fruit every day is good for you all year round. In the summer, a piece of fruit is sometimes even tastier, especially on hot days. But those warm temperatures can also affect the shelf life. We therefore tell you per type of fruit how best to store it.
7. Banana

Bananas are best kept in a fruit bowl outside the fridge. The refrigerator is too cold for this tropical fruit. You can keep your banana in the fridge if you only want to use half. Cut the banana in half, do not remove the skin and wrap it in plastic wrap. This way your banana will stay fresh for longer.
6. Kiwi

Kiwis can be stored at room temperature, but putting them in the refrigerator will keep them fresh for longer. Keeping a kiwifruit cold can extend its life by two to three days. Do you want to store kiwi slices? Then it is best to wrap them in foil and put them in the fridge.
5. Melon

A melon can stay fresh for up to a week if you keep this delicious piece of fruit in the fridge. It is also best to wrap pieces in foil for a melon to store.
4. Avocado

Avocados that are not yet ripe are best stored in a fruit bowl. If your avocado is already ripe, but you still want to keep it, it is best to store it in the refrigerator. As a result, your avocado will last up to three days longer!
3. Pineapple

The tropical pineapple is allowed on the fruit bowl. This type of fruit does not need to be kept in the fridge, only if you have cut the pineapple and want to keep it in pieces.
2. Grapes

Grapes can be kept cool. Keep the grapes in the plastic grape container or store them in a bowl in the refrigerator. This way your grapes will stay fresh for a few days longer. Delicious!
1. Apples and Pears

It may surprise you, but apples and pears are best kept in the fridge. Apples can stay good for up to three weeks if you keep them refrigerated.
